Spring isn’t just for swapping out your wardrobe and scrubbing behind the fridge — your beauty stash deserves a refresh too! Let’s be real, makeup bags, bathroom drawers, and skincare shelves can get a little chaotic (read: old mascara from 2022 still sitting there “just in case”). A seasonal reset not only keeps your routine feeling fresh but also ensures your products are actually working their best for you.

So grab your coffee, tie up your hair, and let’s get into the ultimate Spring Cleaning Beauty Edition Checklist:

1. Expired Makeup = Gone!

Check those little PAO (Period After Opening) symbols on your products. Mascara and liquid liners? Toss after 3–6 months. Foundations and concealers? Usually 12 months. Powders last longer, but if it looks weird, smells weird, or just feels off — bin it.

2. Wash All Your Brushes + Sponges

Yes, all of them. This should be done regularly but let's just say, you've forgotten or life got busy! They’re basically bacteria hotels if you haven’t cleaned them in weeks (or… months 👀).

Use a gentle brush cleanser or baby shampoo, rinse well, and let them air dry. Your skin will thank you.

3. Skincare Shelf Audit

That serum you swore would “change your life” but never touched again? Either commit or let it go. Also, check for texture or scent changes — especially with natural or active products.

4. Lip Product Purge

Lipsticks, glosses, balms… they don’t last forever! If you’ve had that gloss since the pre-COVID era, it’s time to say goodbye.

Keep the shades you actually wear and donate or recycle the rest. Think, will I use this in the coming week? If you know you're not, Toss it!

5. Wipe Down Packaging + Organisers

Fingerprints, dust, and makeup smudges build up more than you think. Give your beauty bag, vanity, and organisers a good wipe with a gentle cleaner. It instantly makes everything feel luxurious again.

6. Sunscreen Check

Sunscreen has a real expiry date (and it matters). Using an old one won’t protect you properly. If it’s out of date, replace it — especially since spring = more sun!

7. Refresh Your Haircare Shelf

Half-empty shampoos, styling sprays you never use, or that hair mask that’s basically a rock now? Declutter and keep the products you genuinely reach for.

8. Restock the Staples

This is the fun part. The very deserving part. Once you’ve cleared the clutter, note down what you’re running low on. Think: SPF, cleanser, setting spray, your everyday brow pencil.

Add them to your shopping list so you’re never caught off guard.

9. Try a New Season Swap

Spring is the perfect excuse to add a fresh product to your routine — maybe a lightweight moisturiser, a glossy lip, or a dewy highlighter. Out with winter heaviness, in with that glowy spring vibe!

10. Treat Yourself to Fresh Tools

If your sponge is breaking apart or your brush handles are peeling, it’s time for replacements.

New tools not only work better but make your whole routine feel upgraded.

Final Note: Why Spring Cleaning Beauty Edition Is Buzzing

Spring cleaning your beauty routine isn’t just about tossing things out — it’s about creating space for products that actually spark joy and work for you.

Because makeup bags deserve fresh starts too. 🌸 Happy Spring Cleaning!
